The English for Erasmus Communication course is aimed at staff from educational institutions with a B2 English language level who wish to develop their English language and intercultural communication skills, especially for participating in Erasmus projects.

This ‘on request’ course runs for 25 hours per week in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath, UK and is delivered in a spacious and comfortable facility that provides wifi access and free refreshments.It is eligible for Erasmus funding such as KA1.
We invite teachers to request course dates as early as possible.
With a minimum of two teachers we will open up a fixed-date one or two week group course at the group participant rate. If you need a group course but can only send one teacher, we recommend contacting us several months (4-6) in advance and being as flexible as possible with your dates.

Typical Course Outcomes
The exact focus of the course depends on the mix of participants so when you apply we will ask you to give us some detail about your specific course aims; however below are some examples of typical course outcomes:

All course materials will be provided.
Most days we split the day into 3 hours per morning and 2 hours per afternoon with a 3-hour lunch break to enable our participants to recharge and enjoy Bath’s many cultural opportunities during opening hours.
Museums and shops are open all day from 09.30/10.00 -17.30/18.00. Supermarkets stay open longer.
To celebrate the CULTURAL HERITAGE of Bath your course will include a guided history walk around Bath and a visit to the Georgian museum No 1 in Bath’s stunning Royal Crescent.
EMB can help participants to plan and book evening and weekend cultural activities to enhance their cultural experience and promote the use of English outside the classroom.

Application / Preparation
Please note: This course is broadly aimed at B2 level participants who wish to combine language improvement with culture and intercultural communication awareness.

2 We will send you a course factsheet and application form. Complete and return it asap!
3 We will send you a course registration document +a host family profile and contact details (if applicable) when your course is confirmed.
4 We invite you or your school to send us a digital copy of your Erasmus course contract for signature.
5 We will send you or your school the course invoice(s) to be paid one month before the course.
6 We send final joining information and a programme shortly before the course.
Stay with one of our friendly host families to give you the ‘total immersion’ experience! A host family stay guarantees you an authentic taste of Bath life and provides the opportunity for conversation and friendship building.
Our host families are couples or single people who generally do not have children living at home. They live within a 30-minute walk of the course venue. Our host family charge including breakfast and dinner is £340 / €400 for 5 to 7 nights. It is important to book early to guarantee a host family.

Over the summer holiday period we hope to provide families at a reduced fee of €350 based on distance to the course, amenities, etc.
