The English for Erasmus Communication course is aimed at staff from educational institutions who wish to develop their English language and intercultural communication skills, especially for participating in Erasmus projects. The course runs for 25 hours per week in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath, UK and is delivered in a spacious and comfortable facility that provides wifi access and free refreshments.It is eligible for Erasmus funding such as KA1.
We invite teachers to request course dates as early as possible.
One to One
We can run this as a one to one course, many weeks of the year.
With a minimum of two teachers we will open up a fixed-date group course at the group participant rate. If you need a group course but can only send one teacher, we recommend contacting us several months (4-6) in advance and being as flexible as possible with your dates.

Typical Course Outcomes
The exact focus of the course depends on the mix of participants so when you apply we will ask you to give us some detail about your specific course aims; however below are some examples of typical course outcomes:
*More confident speaking skills
*More accurate and appropriate writing skills
*Broader vocabulary for discussing (or micro-teaching if desired) a range of issues such as: youth, education, culture, work and society, migration, business, politics, economics
*Raised awareness of cross-cultural communication concepts and (secondary/tertiary) classroom activities
*More focussed strategies for finding partners and creating a project
*A set of customised marketing and correspondence materials for your institution

All course materials will be provided, except for those for participants’ own activities.
To celebrate the EUROPEAN YEAR of CULTURAL HERITAGE your course will include a visit to the world famous Roman Baths and the Georgian museum No 1 in Bath’s stunning Royal Crescent. Bath also offers free guided walking tours several evenings per week.
EMB can help participants to plan and book evening and weekend cultural activities to enhance their cultural experience and promote the use of English outside the classroom.

Application / Preparation

2 Receive a course registration document for your school. Complete and return it asap!
3 Have a Skype or Whatsapp chat with us to clarify your exact needs
4 Receive a host family profile and contact details (if applicable)
5 Receive an invoice for you or your school administration to be paid one month before your course
Stay with one of our friendly host families to give you the ‘total immersion’ experience! A host family stay guarantees you an authentic taste of Bath life and provides the opportunity for conversation and friendship building.
Our host families are couples or single people who generally do not have children living at home. They live within a 30-minute walk of the course venue. Our host family charge including breakfast and dinner is £340 / €400 for 5 to 7 nights. It is important to book early to guarantee a host family.
