Erasmus English for International Communication

The Erasmus English for International Communication course is aimed at teachers and school staff. You will improve your English for presenting your teaching institution, holding meetings and negotiations and maybe talking about Erasmus projects. You will also develop your intercultural communication awareness and skills. Some teachers may wish to practise delivering a lesson in English.

Erasmus English for International Communication

Language Level

The general English language level of participants is generally between CEFR mid/high B1 + mid B2.

However, if you have a higher level, you may still feel that you lack essential management skills in English, so you are also very welcome on the course.

If you are a secondary school teacher who teaches Business Studies and similar subjects or history, we would recommend our specific courses for those subject teachers instead.

Erasmus English for International Communication

Course Overview

This twenty-five hour programme runs from 09.30 – 15.30 over five days in the beautiful UNESCO city of Bath, UK.  

The course is delivered in a spacious and comfortable centrally located training facility that provides wifi access, breakout areas and free refreshments.

We strongly recommend booking your course at least 8 weeks in advance. 

If you wish to book a group of minimum four teachers and need a different date, we will do our best to open up another course on your preferred date if you request this at least 12 weeks in advance.

 Erasmus Documentation

We will provide your teaching institution with the necessary course information to complete its Erasmus documentation on receipt of course fees. Please bring documents for EMB to sign. 

At the end of the course you will also receive an EMB English for International Communication course certificate.  


We’ll send you a pre-course questionnaire to complete.

Course Materials

Handouts will be provided. Course slides, games and other free takeaway activities will be available on our learning platform after the course. We’ll sign you up to it while you are in Bath.

Participating teachers should provide materials for their own teaching lessons. 


Cultural Visits

EMB can help participants to plan and book evening and weekend cultural activities to enhance their cultural experience and promote the use of English outside the classroom.

Our host family charge is £320 / €400 for up to 7 nights. This includes breakfast and dinner every day.

Alternatively, we can help you to find a bed and breakfast, hotel, apartment or hostel. Any accommodation is a short walk from your EMB English course training premises.
